Gin Braverman is the founder and creative director of gin design group, a Houston-based interior design and branding studio with a national portfolio spanning hospitality, commercial, lifestyle, wellness, residential, public space, and creative retail environments. Her multidisciplinary foundation began with a degree in History from The University of Texas at Austin and expanded through studies in fashion, photography, graphic design, and interior design in New York and abroad. Early work in film and television production, including set design in New York City and a lead designer role on HGTV’s first full-home remodel show, Home Rules, shaped her instinct for storytelling, atmosphere, pace, and performance within built environments.
Gin’s path to interior design has been global, hands-on, and deeply material. In Taipei, she began formal work in the field through an internship with MLD, an international commercial design firm, after months of shadowing designers and absorbing the process from the ground up. Returning to Houston, she apprenticed at Installations Antiques, where she spent years learning specialized finishes, antique restoration, metalwork, wood finishes, custom lighting, and furniture fabrication. That combination of cinematic thinking, international perspective, and workshop-level craft became the backbone of her design approach: layered, emotive, tactile spaces that tell the stories of the people, brands, food, and communities behind them.
Since launching her practice, Gin has helped shape Houston’s hospitality scene and built a portfolio that includes more than 150 bars and restaurants, along with projects in New York, Los Angeles, Dallas, New Orleans, New Canaan, and Tampa. Her team’s work has been recognized in publications including The New York Times, Architectural Digest, GQ, Texas Monthly, Wallpaper*, Hospitality Design, Interior Design Magazine, PaperCity, Houston Chronicle, and Robb Report. In 2020 Gin founded GEWL Procure, an in-house sourcing and procurement studio specializing in custom hospitality FF&A. Beyond the studio, she remains active in Houston’s arts community, including service on the board of the Houston Center for Photography and as Chair of the 2025 HCP Print Auction and recently Chaired the Empty Bowls fundraiser benefitting the Houston Food Bank.

Kim has been a cornerstone of gin design group for over a decade. Kim's journey began in 2013 as an eager intern while still in college.
